The WordPress technology stack I work with every day

Platforms, builders, languages, and performance tools I use in production, not tools I have read about. Each one has its own page covering what it does well, where it breaks, and how I work with it.

Advanced Custom Fields

ACF lets me build structured, editable content for any WordPress page. Field groups, repeaters, flexible content layouts, and options pages for full site control.

Bricks Builder

Bricks Builder delivers clean code output and developer-friendly workflows. I build dynamic sites with query loops, custom elements, and performance-first architecture.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare provides CDN, DNS, security, and performance tools. I set up Cloudflare for WordPress with proper page rules, caching strategy, and SSL configuration.

Divi

Divi by Elegant Themes is a versatile visual builder. I customize Divi layouts, optimize load times, troubleshoot conflicts, and build conversion-focused designs.

Elementor

Elementor is the most popular WordPress page builder. I create pixel-perfect designs, optimize performance, fix builder-specific issues, and extend functionality with custom code.

HTML & CSS

Semantic HTML and modern CSS are the foundation of every site I build. Clean markup, responsive layouts, CSS Grid, Flexbox, custom properties, and accessibility-first approach.

JavaScript

JavaScript drives frontend interactivity. I write vanilla JS and use libraries for animations, dynamic UI, AJAX calls, form validation, and performance-critical interactions.

PHP

PHP powers WordPress and most of the server-side web. I write custom PHP for themes, plugins, REST API endpoints, database queries, and third-party integrations.

Rank Math

Rank Math is a powerful WordPress SEO plugin. I configure schema markup, sitemaps, redirections, breadcrumbs, and on-page analysis for maximum search visibility.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce is the most flexible e-commerce platform on WordPress. I build and optimize WooCommerce stores for speed, conversions, and scalable product management.

WordPress

WordPress powers over 40% of the web. I build custom themes, plugins, and full websites on WordPress with clean code, fast performance, and SEO baked in from day one.

WP Rocket

WP Rocket is a premium caching plugin. I configure page cache, file optimization, lazy loading, database cleanup, and CDN integration for peak performance.

Frequently asked

Stack questions, answered

Direct answers about which technologies to choose and when each one makes sense.

What technologies do you work with?

Core platforms like WordPress, WooCommerce, and Advanced Custom Fields. Page builders including Elementor, Bricks Builder, and Divi. Languages and tooling covering PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Performance and SEO tools including WP Rocket, Cloudflare, and Rank Math. Every technology listed on this page reflects production work, not surface-level familiarity.

Which page builder is best for my project?

It depends on your team, your content workflow, and your performance requirements. Elementor suits marketing teams that need editing flexibility without a developer. Bricks Builder suits performance-sensitive projects where Core Web Vitals matter. Divi suits clients who already own a lifetime licence or want design freedom. The right recommendation comes out of discovery, not a default preference.

Do I need ACF Pro or is the free version enough?

Free ACF covers most projects: text, image, and repeater fields have been in the free version since v6.0. ACF Pro adds Flexible Content, Gallery, Options Pages, and the Block API for custom Gutenberg blocks. For client sites with complex content modelling, ACF Pro is worth the annual cost. For simpler builds, the free version does the job.

Should I use WP Rocket or server-level caching?

If your host runs LiteSpeed or OpenLiteSpeed, server-level caching is free and faster because it caches above PHP entirely. WP Rocket is the better universal choice on Apache and Nginx hosts where that is not available. Both deliver excellent results when configured correctly, and misconfiguration causes more problems than either plugin solves.

What is the difference between Rank Math and Yoast?

Rank Math has better defaults, more features in the free tier, native schema support across more types, and lower premium pricing. Yoast has more market share and a longer track record. For a new site, Rank Math is the recommendation. For a site already invested in Yoast Premium with everything configured, migration is optional rather than urgent.

Can you work on an existing site built by someone else?

Yes. A large share of my work is inherited sites: undocumented custom code, plugin conflicts, broken caching setups, and builds where the original developer is gone. The first step is always an audit so you get an honest picture of what is there before any work starts.

Do you work with technologies not listed here?

Often, yes. This page lists what I use regularly enough to claim real depth. If your stack includes something else, send me the details and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right fit or whether you need a specialist. A straight no now saves both of us a bad engagement later.

Should I hire a specialist or a generalist developer?

For WordPress and WooCommerce work, depth beats breadth. Builder-specific quirks, caching conflicts, and database-level performance issues are the kind of problems that take a generalist days and a specialist hours. That difference shows up in your invoice and in how long your site stays broken.
